Preferred Lies
When a ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, free relief may be taken once by placing a ball in the general area, not nearer the hole than and within 6 inches of the original ball’s spot (Model Local Rule E-3)
No Play Zones
a) All areas of recent and ongoing construction work on holes 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, and 18, and any fences surrounding them are No Play Zones
A player must not play a stroke at a ball that lies in a No Play Zone, have their feet in a No Play Zone when playing a stroke, nor touch any fence surrounding the No Play Zone when playing a stroke.
Free relief must be taken from interference by the No Play Zone, under Rule 16.1f
(i.e. find the nearest spot not nearer the hole where there is no interference and drop a ball within 1 club length of this spot)
b) The area defined by blue posts on the bank at the 15th hole is also a No Play Zone.
When a ball lies in this NPZ, free relief must be taken by dropping a ball within 1 club length (in any direction) of the white stake in front of the bank.
Ground Under Repair
a) All areas defined by white lines
b) Areas of damage caused by construction vehicles on holes 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, and 18 are Ground Under Repair.
A player may play their ball as it lies or may take free relief under Rule 16.1b (i.e. find the nearest spot not nearer the hole where there is no interference and drop a ball within 1 club length of this spot)
c) Tyre tracks made by construction vehicles and greenkeeping equipment are Ground Under Repair. Free relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b
Note – when taking relief from GUR or an NPZ, the nearest spot where there is no interference may not always be on the fairway side of the GUR or NPZ.
