Great to be Back!

It was great to see so many of you back playing Verulam Golf Club the past three days. I saw a few very good tee shots from the first tee and quite a few not so good ones.

The course is starting to take shape and praise must go to the Course Manager and his team for their continued hard work the past months.

If you are thinking about upgrading your equipment this year please read this. The manufacturers have expressed some concern based on last years situation. Due to the global pandemic as well as a massive increase in sales post lockdown as the season goes on lead times and availability of products will most probably become longer and products becoming extremely difficult to source.

Major season kicks off this week

European golf fans, cover your eyes! The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play was not pretty viewing for Padraig Harrington & Co. as the States dominated, with Billy Horschel defeating Scottie Scheffler in a scrappy final. Who can blame them considering it was their 7th match in just four days!

The Major Championship season kicks off this week as the world’s best lady golfers head to California for the ANA Inspiration. Last year’s tournament saw Mirim Lee shock everyone with a comeback win including two chip-ins, an 18th-hole eagle and a three-way playoff! A host of the game’s stars, including the Korda sisters (Nelly & Jess), Lexi Thompson and Danielle Kang have all been in fine form this year. It’s destined to be a cracker!

Hopefully, it won't be long before you're teeing up in major club competitions once again so why not book yourself in for a lesson or two to sharpen up your game?

Staying grounded this season
