In The Shop

With all the product launches coming up in the next few weeks, I really didn't want any of you just buying a club and not getting fitted for it. In most cases people buy clubs that are

1. Not the correct spec

2. No better than their current club

3. Worse than their current club

At the moment nobody is allowed to custom fit under the current covid guidelines but this will change in the coming months.

You will see large chains and even other Professionals offering free custom fitting on products but if you sit back and think about it, its not free and usually a sales exercise. This is one of the reasons why I charge for my services as there is never any pressure for me to sell a product to a golfer. The other reason is that the fitting we offer is so much more thorough and knowledge based than any other fitting around. The equipment we fit with and build clubs with are so much more advanced than anyone around. This is through years of study and investment into my business and obviously my love of the game.

We have also invested in a new putting launch monitor (known as SAM) as well as updating the astroturf and building a bespoke putting green with four holes.

We have taken delivery of many golf clubs that were custom fitted before lockdown three however this has to be my favourite yet.

The customer saved £100 on this Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero driver fitted with a tensei av blue 65 extra stiff shaft.

This customer was actually the assistant professional at North Middlesex Golf Club.

Hatton outshines McIlroy

Rory McIlroy opened the new European Tour season in an all-too-familiar fashion last weekend. The Northern Irishman was part of a fascinating tug-of-war battle with Tyrrell Hatton at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, only to be completely outplayed by Hatton during the final 18 holes.

Just about every player’s bag was brimming with new, exciting-looking equipment; both Hatton and McIlroy heading into battle with brand-new drivers and fairway woods from their respective brands.
