Laurence runs close in Hertfordshire PGA Championship!

Last Monday saw Laurence and 25 other PGA Hertfordshire PGA based Professionals take to Brookmans Park Golf Club for the annual championship over 36 holes.

In the bag for the first time was his Mizuno MP-20 irons, he has a mixed combo of blades Pw-7ir (MP20) & 6ir-4ir more forgiving (MP-20 HMB).

Also the NEW T-20 wedges in Blue ION metal finish. He was more excited about hitting his new clubs than his actual score on the day!

He returned a very respectable 2 round total of 138 (69-69) for a core of 4 under par, finishing 3rd just 2 shots back of the tie for 1st place.

Winter Studio Practice Promo Announced…….

From 1st October until the end of March, hone your swing with us in the JS Golf Studio, using our Foresight GCQuad launch monitor!

A maximum of 2 x 1 hour sessions in the JS Golf Studio per week.

Improve Your Putting This Winter With Technology

Here at Verulam Pro Shop we have the very best technology to help aid our coaching and fitting. Our GC Quad launch monitor allows us to capture valuable club and ball data alongside our high-speed camera software. Putting lessons can be held either inside on our Huxley putting green or outside on the green.

Adjustments to your putter can also be made if needed on our digital loft and lie machine. Having the correct loft and lie is extremely important to be a consistent putter.

Winter Opening Hours

Now that we are on winter hours shop opening times are as follows:

Weekdays - 8am – 4pm

Weekends - 7.45am – 4pm

Driving Range Closure

Due to recent heavy rainfall, the driving range is now closed. Unfortunately, the soft ground conditions do not allow us to get the buggy onto the range to collect the balls.

The range will now run as a practice area until further notice where you may use your own balls and collect after.

Rain, rain go away

In 2018, only January saw more rainfall in the UK than November. Not the happiest of stats to highlight, but one that indicates we'll be experiencing a few downpours in the coming weeks, making a waterproof and spacious bag vital to tackle the unpredictable British weather.

Which do you prefer?

If you've ever been to a fancy dress party, we're sure you would have seen someone dressed as a golfer from the 19th century - plus fours, knee length socks and flat caps.

Spotlight | Callaway JAWS MD5 Wedges

What we love most about Callaway is that each time a new product comes out, it performs better than the one it replaces in the range - something we certainly noticed in the latest Mack Daddy wedges.

Last time out they introduced Groove-In-Groove Technology, which is proven to produce more spin on your wedge shots. Now, they've combined this with a JAWS groove design for even more spin around the greens!
