Joel’s #RoadToTheOpen Continues Joel was armed with his new Callaway kit for the 2019 season when having his second lesson with Carl this week, and used them to great effect! Having made good progress in session 1, Joel was moving better, and as a result he was hitting relatively consistent, draw iron shots into the green. To further improve, Joel had to better manage his clubface, both in terms of position and delivery into and through impact. Here’s a snippet from Joel’s lesson post on Carl’s social media: “Some great results with @verulamgc Head Professional Joel Saunders using @hackmotion tonight! Overactive hands/wrists can cause a whole host of issues, particularly if there’s an excessive amount of extension (cupping) and radial deviation (hinging) present in the backswing. Using biofeedback we were able to reduce lead wrist extension and radial deviation throughout the swing, helping Joel to manage his clubface much more consistently, as well as reducing dynamic loft, increasing ball speed and efficiency.”
