Members Bringing Guests

As you were aware last year there was a change in the club status following withdrawal from the amateur sports club scheme.

Accordingly members are reminded that to minimise our corporation tax liability following our withdrawal on 31st March 2016 and in order to qualify for the member’s green fee rate, members will need to pay for their golfing guests at the point of sale. If the member does not pay for their guest then the concessionary green fee rate will not be available.

PING HQ

Carl becomes PING brand ambassador!

Carl took a trip up to the PING Europe custom fitting HQ in Gainsborough last week for a full bag fitting having agreed to represent the brand. Carl will be using the G400 LS Tec driver, G400 3 wood and G400 hybrid having seen significant gains in distance and dispersion using the new PING range. He will also be using the iBlades and Glide 2.0 wedges.

With all of our professionals now representing our 3 major brands (Joel – Callaway, Laurence – Mizuno, Carl – PING), you can be sure to receive expert advice on any of our custom fitting options available in the JS Golf Studio!

Final Chipping Clinic!

Carl’s third and final chipping clinic will be taking place on Friday, 25 August at 6pm. The sheet is now up in the clubhouse and changing room to book your spot. Several of our members have benefitted already!

CDP with Laurence Allen

Our Academy Director Laurence offers you the chance to meet your golfing goals:

The golfing season is in full flow and looking ahead now to those end of summer goals I am launching the CDP Program (Continual Development Program).

The CDP program will examine all aspects of your game from tee to green and will discover the most effective ways to reach your goals!

A one hour on course session is the start where I watch you play followed by a coffee to discuss strengths & weaknesses.

Cost of initial CDP is £35, I am running a special promotion this month where you receive the CDP FREE of charge when you sign up to the 4 or 6 hour package.

Should you sign up for the 6 hour package not only do you receive the analysis session FREE, but you will also receive a follow up on course lesson (1hr 30min) after the 6 hours of coaching.

Choose the right ball

Not only is playing with the same model of golf ball each round important for your consistency, but you need to make sure that you’re taking to the course with a ball that suits your game and feel preferences. Comparing different balls is a great way to narrow down what you are after.

Scoring system

During a chat about your goals, price range and personal preferences we can make a few ball recommendations for you to go and try. Why not use the above scoring system when out on the course to determine which ball is best for your game?

SHORT GAME FIRST

Side-by-side testing should make it easier to notice any preferences you have, but if you don’t have a clear winner we’d always recommend prioritising the ball you prefer around the greens, as this is where you take the majority of your shots and what influences your final score the most.

Both the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls are very popular in store because they offer total performance. So you get very soft feel with tour proven short game control as well as exceptional distance. Each ball also has some subtle differences to suit various needs, which we can discuss before your on course testing.
