Welcome Carl
I would like to introduce to you all our new member of the professional team Carl Morfoot. Carl is a fully qualified PGA Professional and will be offering his coaching services with immediate effect. Please take a moment to read a brief introduction from Carl.
'I would like to thank all the members for a warm and friendly welcome to the club during my first day at Verulam on Saturday. I had the pleasure of playing the course for the first time on Sunday with three of our members and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge that the course presents.
I have made the move to Verulam from my home in Durham. Having recently graduated from the Applied Golf Management Studies degree at the University of Birmingham I have spent some time coaching players of all ages and abilities at Wynyard Golf Club, Oak Leaf Golf Complex (both local to my home in County Durham) and the Paul McGinley Academy at Quinta Do Lago (Portugal). I am a keen player and will be looking to play with members when possible, as well as being actively involved within the club.'
15 Minutes of our Time
We have decided to offer every member a FREE '15 minutes of our time' dedicated to improve your game. The 15 minute session will take place in our state of the art swing studio and you can select from the four following options to help your golf for the start of the season:
1. Ball Fitting - Are you using the correct golf ball this season?
2. Wedge Distances - Do you know how far your approach shots go?
3. Driving Distance - Are you losing distance from the tee?
4. Swing MOT - A quick basic swing check-up.

The Perfect Shot
Congratulations to Gerald Hill who achieved a perfect shot on Monday on the 8th Hole.
By all accounts it was a flushed 5 wood landing onto the front of the green and running out into the hole.
Range Guidelines
The driving range is now back open. Please read the guidelines below:
Balls must be purchased from the pro shop
Collection of range balls is forbidden
Due to health and safety concerns WOODS are not allowed to be used
Please return baskets after use
Last balls must be purchased one hour before pro shop closing
Play from the roped area and re-fill your divots using the divot soil provided
It has come to our attention that certain people are causing undue damage to the roped area. When hitting shots please keep your divots together rather than spreading them around the area. Once you have finished use the divot soil to repair your divots.
We are privileged to have a wondering practice area…PLEASE KEEP IT THAT WAY.
