Welcome to our new ladies' Captain Willie Custance. Her drive in was last Wednesday and was a great day supported by many club members.
We wish Willie the best of luck for her year ahead.
Here are some pictures from the day.
This week, Laurence and I were up at the Stadium MK in Milton Keynes for the Foremost Golf Annual Conference. This was a great opportunity for us to network with other professionals and attend a number of valuable seminars and workshops that will help us improve our service to our members. There are some brilliant innovations and products coming in 2017, and we can't wait to show them off for you.
Keep your eyes on our weekly newsletter over the coming months and stay up to date with everything here at Verulam.
Winter is really coming now Despite a fairly mild October, the winter really feels like it's coming in. Luckily we have well-educated professional staff that really know how to keep warm when playing golf. Here are some tips for you:
The key to keeping warm on the golf course is to keep a 3 important body parts warm at all times….these are…
1. Head Most of our body heat is lost through our heads. Make sure you wear a Woolley hat to ensure the heat doesn't escape
2. Hands If your hands become cold, it's difficult to perform well. Hand warmers are essential, and only
£2 a pair in the Pro Shop. You can always sport some mittens which are really helpful in windy conditions.
3. Feet If your feet turn cold, it's game over. Make sure your golf shoes are waterproof and make sure you wear appropriate socks. FootJoy ProDry socks are essential for this time of year.
