Captain pro challenge

On Sunday our challengers were Bryan Pierson and Ian Magee for the latest in our series of Captain Pro Matches.

It was a very tough match with there only ever being two holes in it.

The captain and I were eventual winners by one hole.

An enjoyable day was had by all.

Junior golf

Juniors Triumph against Moor Park

Our junior team, over the past couple of weeks, have played their home and away legs of the Ver League quarter finals. The Ver league is the most prestigious junior trophy that a Hertfordshire team can win. They faced tough opposition from Moor Park, but they overcame them even though they faced a set-back of not having a full team.

With two players missing from the team they won the away leg 4-3 and the home leg 4 ½ - 2 1/2.

Well done and good luck in the semis.

The Open Countdown

It's not long to go until our most loved major begins at Royal Troon up in Scotland. We have the technology in our studio to play the championship links right here in our comfortable environment.

For only £25 per hour you can play a round at Royal Troon and see how you compete amongst the big guns! (Warning, don't find the rough!).

As you may have also heard, we are running a nearest the pin competition on the 8th hole (the postage stamp) at Troon on our simulator.

It is £3 for 4 shots at the tiny green and the winner takes the pot. The closing date is the Sunday of the Open, so you still have some time to crown yourself Open Champion… sort of…

Hot topic

Is it the 'Big Three' or the 'Big Four'?

Just when you thought Jason Day, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy were all set to divvy up golf's biggest prizes, along comes big-hitting Dustin Johnson. The US champion is now number two in the world and looks to be finally fulfilling his potential after another fine win at the weekend - and a big one too at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. For years Johnson seemed destined to be the bridesmaid, now he's one of the favourites to go back-to-back in Majors and take the Claret Jug back across the Atlantic.

Next week's Open at Royal Troon could be a classic

Vote NowWhich leads us on to a new section of our website - our regular poll, and we want your votes. Tell us who you think will win the Open Championship next week; will it be Day, Johnson, Spieth, McIlroy or A.N. Other?
