The Marten Cup
On Saturday 26th April, it was the spring round of the Marten Cup, a fantastic turnout of 131 players battled the tough windy conditions, even the CSS went up to 74! Well done to everyone for competing. The next round of the Marten Cup is in the autumn, and both scores from the autumn and spring events get added together and the lowest aggregate is the Marten Cup Winner!
Congratulations to J. Knapp who won the Marten Cup (spring round) with a great score of net 68.

Coaching success
This week's coaching success story comes from our Assistant Glen, who has been coaching his own Mum for around a year now, in this time her handicap has fallen from 25 to 19! And last week she shot an impressive Nett 65 at Old Fold Manor….9 Under her handicap!!
The main thing Glen and his Mum Linda have been working on is accuracy, and trying to straighten up her driving. To do this Glen altered Linda's set up and her initial takeaway. As you can see in the picture, Linda's takeaway position was far too much from the inside. This caused the club to get too far behind her body which made returning the club back square extremely difficult. As you can see in the other picture, the takeaway is noticeably better and has allowed her to swing up and down the correct swing path successfully, resulting in her hitting straighter shots!
